With the Voltage Running Through Her Skin
Hi. I'm not here right now but if you leave me a message with your name and phone number I'll get back to you as soon as I can...
All jokes aside babies I've skipped town and am now somewhere between Nicaragua and Panama running through the jungle and learning how to surf. (Costa Rica.)
Be back Thursday. xx.

Chanel my Belle
Every now and again my dad will ask me to be his date to some event. And every now and again I accept.
So I arrive at The Biltmore in downtown. Late. Not on purpose. They were filming on the street and it was backing up all those horrible one way streets. If there were any other options I wouldn't valet. It's always too expensive and it seems really silly to me. But here in downtown Los Angeles there really is no other option; so I bit the bullet and handed over my keys. Waltzed into the lounge to a comfortable setting with old men closing business deals and jazz playing in the background. I've always loved it here.
Found the check in table and discovered that I was at a gala and not a banquet as I had thought. (What's the difference anyway?) I should have worn heels. Galas deserve heels. But fine, I fit in just fine. No one expects too much of me since I'm just someone's daughter. But I'd like to think I can hold my own (to a point)in a room full of CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
This belt is not mine. This belt is not mine. This belt is not mine. This belt probably costs more than it costs to feed, clothe and provide shelter for me for three months. My friend O let me borrow it for the occasion since I was struggling with something to pull it all together. Think it works. But my first reaction definitely was, "Is this real," which was later echoed by my father when I showed him. Her estimate was at $1400 which is an absurd amount of money to spend on a chain that's only two feet long dontcha think? And the answer is yes. Straight from the closet of a major magazine.

Entourage
I showed up to my friends house to watch Entourage wearing this. This is what you get when you mix a corporate job with a fun job. I had both today and was running late to meet my friends so i just combined the two. Worked out alright. Felt bad for Vinny Chase and his conniving co-star though..

So. I'm sitting on the stools right near the entrance that face the window eating at the Starbucks on Robertson in Beverly Hills when this swarm of people come suddenly buzzing up to the window. Really confusing especially since now there's probably a video of me on TMZ cramming my face with a nice little Swiss and turkey sandwich. And then Holly from the Girls Next Door waltzes in with some hussy and some douche-y looking guy. This is what the view from the other side of those camera lenses looks like. (Note: I did not take a photo of her for concern of her privacy. We should all be able to get a latte in peace. amen. )

Halloween
Went searching around Los Angeles for a last-minute Halloween costume as I had already used up all the old ones on pre-Halloween parties. Finally after seeing the prices at all the shops I decided to just buy a sailor hat and call it a day. Planning on pairing it with stuff already in my closet ie. striped blue & white f21 top. Realized I might be getting old when I called my best friend about what she was doing during the night and she said she might just stay in and pass out candy. Am I the only 22-year old who's not ready to settle in? God, I'm trying to stretch out my youth as long as I can. For example-today I rolled out of bed and put on some fairy wings and a sparkly skirt over this dresss and got CPK with my other friend who was also dressed up in a senorita dress. Mind you, we weren't the only ones dressed up for Halloween at 11am--there was a four year old wearing a tiara in the booth next to us. Who cares if they all stared, we really didn't. We probably were having more fun than any of them. Mmm raviolis and BBQ chicken chopped salads.

Melrose
Went to the American Apparel on Melrose today. Ran down the street to shew away the meter maid who was about to give me a ticket. Really nice meter maid though--they let me go--joy! Yes! Feelings amped, hopped in the car, cranked up the radio and made a right off Spaulding and started heading east on Melrose. Slam on my breaks right in front of f-ing Urban Outfitters because some asshole in a jean cut-off vest and matching jeans is running in front of my car. They make crosswalks for a reason, buddy! Who the hell is this dirty jerk with pretty eyes? Oh. Justin Bobby from The Hills. Shit.

Indulge
So I have this fantasy lately where I run off to New York City. This hat goes in line with that.
Theory, 95 smackaroos.
I See A Red Door And I Want to Paint it Black...
Ran into Ron and Cobrasnake Mark at the T-mobile party so that made this a little easier. The party had a Famina at the party so they basically gave you a free bag and let you at it. Literally it was like the LA Riots; kids looting the place, grabbing things they don't need, like twelve boxes of Pocky.

Wearing this. It was an awesome show because my friend got us backstage passes. Which-if you know anything about me is some sort of fantasy. (Notice the rancid poster in the background.)

Shop Til you Drop
Now you too can own a piece of the dream-in handbag form. Several celebrities (do you see that pile in the photo) have donated their bags to help gain revenue for cancer research. Such participants include Heidi Montag/Lauren Conrad, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller and many many more. Link here.
Finally
After the not-so-recent death of Hyde, it's nice to see SBE/Bolthouse planning a new adventure for all of us LA kids. See you there.
West Coast Waverly
October 2008
Sam Nazarian, owner of Los Angeles hot spots Hyde and Area, says his latest venue won’t have a velvet rope or even a sign. An unmarked door on the back wall of the Bazaar—a tapas restaurant in his new hotel, the SLS at Beverly Hills—will lead to a hidden second boîte set to open later this year and dubbed SAAM. “It is a playful version of my name based on its location in the Bazaar,” says Nazarian, who credits the hotel’s designer, Philippe Starck, and SAAM’s chef, José Andrés, for inventing the moniker for the spot, which his camp is calling L.A.’s answer to Graydon Carter’s Waverly Inn. Reservations will be taken via—what else?—an unlisted number.

Saturday Elegance
I found this attached with this Lagerfeld quote on FashionIndie and I thought It'd be a great way for us all to begin this Saturday. Especially because Anna's giving us the finger.

Here we find Kate Beckinsale on a normal day, looking lovely as ever. I love the throw-back to Alexander Wang she's giving with the over sized beanie. Cute, casual downtown vibe.

Sorry For The Time Away
Sorry for being so absent this week. Although I regularly tend to run in the other direction of anything resembling a gym; I've found myself cooped up in a yoga studio for most of this week. I've been taking, yoga, pilates and the bar method classes and I feel A.) sore beyond belief B.) a new found respect for health-types.
Anyway, the night that I wore this outfit I went out with my friend MF to Beverly Hills where we feasted on Mexican food and too many desserts. Then, when I told him that I'd feel nearly up to anything he took me to an all-male smoking lounge. There was a Bentley at the door and everyone was smoking cigars and drinking scotch. Honestly, I've never felt like more of a sixty-year old man. Then, after that mini adventure we went to something a little more regular and headed over to The Roosevelt pool for, what I believe was, the last of the summer-night-pool-sessions. Didn't stay long as that's not-so-much my scene anymore and I was in bed well before 2.

She's Got the XFactor.
So I don't watch the XFactor. I don't even live in the UK. But I stumbled across this video of contestant Diana Vickers and I think she's amazing. See for yourself.
